【摘要】:Thisspecificationprovidestheminimumrequirementsfordesign,construction,performance,andtestingofdevicestopreventmarinetankliquidoverpressurization(hereaftercalledspillvalves).ThespillvalvesprovidedinaccordancewiththisspecificationwillsatisfyRegulation1I-2/59.1.6ofthe1981and1983AmendmentstotheInternationalConventionfortheSafetyofLifeatSea,1974(SOLAS),whichstates:"Provisionshallbemadetoguardagainstliquidrisingintheventingsystemtoaheightwhichwouldexceedthedesignheadofthecargotank.Thisshallbeaccomplishedbyhighlevelalarmsoroverflowcontrolsystemsorotherequivalentmeans,togetherwithgagingdevicesandcargotankfillingprocedures."Thespillvalvesarenotintendedfortheventingofvaporsorthereliefofvaporoverpressurizationorunderpressurizationofmarinetanks.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thefollowingprecautionarycaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodsportion,Section8,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
